Artist Spotlight of The Month Toni Steelz is a multitalented 2019 Grammy -considered, multi- award winning artist, actress, host and clothing designer from Brooklyn, New York. One of her amazing hits “Welcome to My Hood” landed her the opportunity to grace the stage prior to major artists such as Ice T, Naughty By Nature, Faith Evans and Maxi Priest just to name a few. In addition, she has performed at some of New York’s iconic locations which include, The Jacob Javits Center, BB Kings, and Madison Square Garden. “This Renaissance Woman landed premier roles in ﬁlms “Trafﬁc Lane”related to corrupt law enforcement, “The Needs 2” a ﬁlm centered around mental health, and “DNA” a series of Love, Family and Truth. All of these projects involved community issues which she is passionate about. She demonstrated her love for community while hosting her podcast”4 Da Streets”, a series whose dialogue was focused on creating solutions that will result in helping young people become productive members of society.The podcast is on hiatus but will be returning better than ever soon!Ms. Steelz’s experience as a production assistant in “Colored Girls” initiated her journey to one of her favorite places to be, which is on a theater stage where she shined like a diamond utilizing her God given natural talent amongst her fellow thespians who were professionally trained. The Covid 19 Pandemic left our heads spinning and took a toll on the entire world, speciﬁcally artists. During this time Toni made a conscious effort to take care of her mind, body and soul by meditating, eating healthy, exercising, refraining from negative media and focusing on creating new designs for her clothing line, “ToniSteelz Collections” which features hip-hop inspired apparel for men and women. Toni stated that consistent sales from the collection sustained her during these challenges times.
